Why do people put sugar in coffee? Coffee is bitter - that's it's nature.
The principle seems to be that if the coffee is too bitter, add some sugar. But do people do the reverse? If you wanted a dessert but didn't really like sweet things, you wouldn't pick a sweet dessert and sprinkle pepper all over it.
